Original BeechBand instructions

Welcome to the BeechBand community!

The BeechBand was born from Carl’s personal experience of Parkinson’s, and we hope it can help you too. To get the best out of it, please read through all of these instructions carefully before using the device

Charging the BeechBand

The BeechBand is powered by a rechargeable, non-removable battery inside the case. It is charged via a standard USB-C port, which is located on the side of the case. Before using your BeechBand for the first time, it is essential to charge it fully. Follow these steps to charge your device:

1. If you are wearing it, take off the device.

2. Attach a USB-C charging cable (not supplied) to the charging port on the side of the  device.

3. Plug the other end of the cable into a USB power source, e.g. a plug or USB socket.

4. Ensure that the device is switched off whilst charging.

5. Allow the device to charge for 45 minutes. After charging, remove the cable before fitting.

Wearing the BeechBand

The BeechBand can be fitted in the same manner as a wristwatch, and can be worn on either wrist. We suggest that you try each wrist to see which gives you the best results. Adjust the strap so that it fits snugly but not too tight. The device should sit flat on your wrist without causing discomfort.

Turning the BeechBand On and Off

Before turning on the BeechBand, we recommend that you first attach it to your wrist (see above).

Press the On/Off button once on the side of the case. The BeechBand should begin vibrating immediately and will continue until the BeechBand is turned off or until the battery runs out.

To turn it off, press the On/Off button again. The BeechBand should stop vibrating immediately.

Warning

1. The BeechBand is NOT waterproof, so please keep away from all sources of liquid. Please remove the BeechBand before showering, bathing and swimming. Only clean the BeechBand with a dry cloth.

2. Do not expose the BeechBand to temperatures over 40°C or under -5°C.

3. Do not operate any machinery whilst wearing the BeechBand that would put you or others in danger should the BeechBand stop working mid-use, e.g. if the battery runs out.

4. Do not attempt to charge the BeechBand if you think that water has entered the case.

5. Upon switching off the BeechBand after use, you may experience an instant return of any symptoms that were relieved whilst wearing, and they could even be more pronounced for a short while.

6. Do not disassemble, modify, remanufacture, puncture or damage the device or battery.

7. Do not remove or attempt to remove the non-user-replaceable battery.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your BeechBand, follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. If the BeechBand is not turning on or the vibration just stops mid-use, it is likely the battery has run out. Please charge your BeechBand as per these instructions.

2. If your BeechBand vibration changes, for example to a continuous vibration instead of pulses, then it is likely that the battery is about to run out. Please switch off and charge your BeechBand as per these instructions.

3. If after attempting to charge your BeechBand it still does not turn on, then check your USB cable and power source. Try an alternative cable or power source. If it still does not switch on, please contact the BeechBand customer support.

To change the strap, first locate the pin of each side of the strap, on the underneath of the device. Using a small tool or your fingernail, move the pin towards the centre of the strap and then gently pull the strap away from the case. Repeat for the other part of the strap. To install a new strap, please refer to any instructions that come with the new strap.
